These are some photos from a special project I did in 2017. Early in the year the artist tragically and unexpectedly passed away. The artists father agreed to have all the paintings photographed so the family could share the art, and he would keep the originals. It was a very sensitive project for the family.
The paintings needed to be reproduced. They all had a range of problems, most noticeable was dust. It looked like someone tried to wipe them down with damp paper towels to get the dust off and the lint became part of the paintings. They were already varnished. The paintings were not in good condition.
I was proud to give this family these photographs. Tears of joy. I photographed 29 paintings and drawings. The family then had a memorial art show in honor of their son Athinian Cain.
